Boho Bear | Toy Store Brand Identity

The Opportunity

A Portland toy store entrepreneur sought a brand identity for a kid’s store offering teddy bears and wooden toys. After spending his early career working in corporate businesses, the client requested this brand be local, friendly, and unique… nothing like Toys R Us.

Proposed Solution

A custom logo and brand identity, store roll-out, and out-of-home advertising that pays homage to the bounties of mother earth. Using “Oh No Softie” as the primary typeface, the brand envelopes potential customers in a big, welcoming hug right off the bat. Playful graphic elements (drafted first in acrylic paint) are used to extend the visual brand when paired with warm, inviting family imagery. Even the color palette aligns to nature, using a wild salmon pink and pale teal harkening back to the region’s Willamette River.

This is concept work completed at Shillington School of Design.
