World Aid | Nonprofit Report

The Opportunity

The Water Report is an annual report published to advertise World Aid’s efforts to improve sanitation and access to clean water around the globe. Provided with the organization’s logo and color palette, the brochure needed to be constructed with a limited print budget in mind.

Proposed Solution

After confirming the design direction with the moodboard shown below (image #1), the final report leverages three PMS colors from World Aid’s brand guidelines — PMS 281, PMS 3125, and PMS Medium Yellow C. The headline typeface is a blocky sans-serif called Niveau Grotesk that has a slight flare in the W to add intrigue. It is used in various weights throughout the design for ease of readability. A full bleed image was selected to humanize the relief efforts, juxtaposed to stark statistics about the availability of fresh, clean water and sanitation facilities around the world. Slight color adjustments were made to the original image to match the child’s headscarf to the rest of the color palette. The report dimensions are square per the client’s request and icons were licensed from the Noun Project.

This is concept work done at Shillington School of Design.
